Children in Years 5 and 6 recently spent a week taking part in Geography fieldwork studying rivers. They started on the River Pang, a tributary of the River Thames, taking measurements of the stream and finding out what lived in the water. They were then able to compare their results with life in a nearby pond. Later in the week they visited the Thames at Henley where they found out about the river and its history at the River and Rowing Museum. Finally they went to London to look at the lower Thames from the London Eye. They then went by boat through the Pool of London, under Tower Bridge, round the Isle of Dogs and down to Greenwich and the Thames Barrier. |
