Name: Karen Phillipson
Member of: Curriculum and Safeguarding Committee, Staffing Committee
My association with Aldryngton began when my twins joined the reception class in 2010. I have always been impressed with how well Aldryngton has educated both my boys, even though they have very different strengths and weaknesses, and I have always tried to support the school by helping with a range of class activities.
In 2014 I decided that I would like to become more involved with the school and became a Governor. I am now Chair of the Curriculum, Community and Safeguarding committee as well as sitting on the staffing committee.
Since I joined the Governing Body, Aldryngton has faced, and continues to face, many significant issues that threaten to impact on the success and nature of the school. My aim as a Governor is to try and ensure that whatever the future holds for the school, every Aldryngton child experiences the supportive, broad and stimulating education that my own children have enjoyed.
